 FOTON TRACTORS

I bought a 4 CYL. 40 HP Foton tractor w/ loader about 3 months ago and couldnt be more happy with it. I have also been using my own bio-diesel that I make from waste vegitable oil and the tractor runs just fine on it with no loss of power; and it smells like chicken. I would like to know if there are any other 40hp Foton owners who have found a cross referance PN# to FRAM OR WIX or any major brand filter for the oil and fuel filters on the tractor.
Thanks for your help

Hoyt, sorry I don't have the filter specs you need. I am actually looking at the Foton 404. Very interested. How much did you have to pay (if ya don't mind sharing) and where did you purchase it? Completely satisfied?

Thanks

The 404's Are beeing sold through Rural King,I bought mine for a base price of $7999.99...I believe the 25 through 35 HP tractors that Northern Hydraulics sell are Fotons, although some say Jimmas..They are the spitting image of mine.As far as the filters go..I just changed my fluids with filters from Rual King, they didn`t even know what to charge me for them??I am trying how to change to domestic filters, but haven`t figured how to deciper chinese yet.Going to see if I can find either WIX or a BALDWIN web site and ship them a email..I`ll keep you posted...Sid

The oil filter needs to be removed and replaced with a common oil filter thread. Remove the stub from the housing and have it machined to use a 3/4 inch stub. Otherwise you need to buy from the dealers for $15 plus shipping. Caution if you try to match up thread and dimesions all you will find are hydraulic oil filters and they cost about $35.00 each.
Convert to 3/4 inch screw on filter and save a lot of money and confusion. I use a wix 51515.

 FOTON TRACTORS

I am ready to order a Foton 354 from www.jdbequipment.ca
up here in Canada. What other parts sources are there?

Is there a newsgroup or a FAQ with details on oils, filters, etc to use with the Foton tractors? Any website with information on hints and kinks....

It looks like a very nice and well made tractor!

Thanks for any info.

Kobi

I have a 40hp rural king and like most, oil filters are either not in stock or mighty salty at the chk out.I found a Fram that works for around 8 bucks .
It is a Fram P1654A Hydraulic filter. It is a tad bit larger capacity however, it works fine.

Wait - you're using a hydraulic filter for engine oil? Or am I just reading this wrong?
