I think he means that buying tire at a Kubota Dealer vs a tire seller will be the same price more or less. NOT that a Kubota Dealer will sell you a tire mounted on a rim for the same price as Only a tire at a tire dealer. That would be way to good to be True !

That tractor with a Kubota Loader cost about 12500 with HSD 4WD when new in 2004.

On the hours, was it a one owner machine? You could probably find one that had 600 or so hours, but the one you are looking at was run 2.5 hours a week, not bad.

It is a very nice machine, when you say firewood, do you mean tossing some already split stuff in the bucket? Log Rolls? or skidding?

Too small for heavy logging. If just hauling split stuff around property you will need a trailer to tow around to be faster.

So no hydro problems. Stick with fluid / filter change, introducing kerosene into a system that is working fine is just asking for headaches IMHO.<br>

Assuming you just changed the filters and Hydro fluid, I would do a second change of fluid and filter again in 50 hours or 12 months whichever comes first. That is the most trouble free way of revisiting that moisture issue you mentioned, rather than flushing the system.<br>

Many tractors recommend normal hydro fluid and filter changes at 50 hours when new and at 300 hour intervals thereafter. <br>
<br>
Hopefully you have indoor shelter now.<br>

Do not know that tractor but if it has any safety cut offs I would look there. On my tractor I get that symptom if I have just slightly move the PTO lever just getting off the tractor when I park it. I jiggle everthing thing to fix, lift off seat etc. and that gets it back.

It gets tough and frustrating when you have touched so very many things on it!

Grey oil is usually a sign that you may have some coolant seeping from a bad head gasket, crack or other source.

Once the plugs get fouled they can be problematic to get great spark without replacing.

Carburetor may be messed up.

Do not know this tractor, just the mechanics of clutches. The throw bearing slides on that shaft. The clutch fork is connected to your clutch pedal and the fork presses against the throw out bearing forcing it against the pressure plate to disengage the clutch from the flywheel.

Many of the large tandem dumps have Aluminum beds, wight matters, that said do own one of the new Fords and agree with KT that those ads seem worst case exaggerations.

We will see in time when you look at the Fords used heavily how they fare.

These air cooled Diesels were made to run great in nice cold climates like Russia. I see you are in Georgia US, might be a strain on it that will overwork its cooling capability which is low to begin with. Make sure everything is as clean as can be to help convention carry the day and clean the air jackets thoroughly.

Looks like they do have lots of stuff, been to that area near York,PA, in South Eastern PA. York is one of those places that looks like an abandoned ghost town, very sad.<br>

Deficiencies: Buna-N can have problems with automotive brake fluid, ketones, phosphate ester hydraulic fluids, and nitro and halogenated hydrocarbons. While it is ozone and weather resistant, this resistance is not infallible but can be supported through compounding.<br>
Applications: Nitrile functions well in applications that have limited temperature and resistance requirements.<br>
<br>
-Ethylene Propylene Rubber (EPR)<br>
<br>
Temperature range: Between -65 degrees Fahrenheit and 300 degrees Fahrenheit.<br>
Suited for: Skydrol, a hydraulic fluid, has a noxious smell and can irritate skin, and its corrosive properties can be damaging to equipment. EPR o-rings work well with Skydrol and other hydraulic fluids, as well as steam, water, silicone oils, brake fluids and alcohols.<br>
Deficiencies: Similar to nitrile, EPR is not perfect for a wide-range of applications due to wear and tear issues.<br>
Applications: The aerospace industry uses EPR o-rings in hydraulic pumps.<br>

-Fluorocarbon (Viton)<br>
<br>
Suited for: Fluorocarbon is an all around material that can handle a number of applications, especially diverse sealing jobs that involve movement. It is also suited for petroleum oils, silicone fluids and gases, acids and some halogenated hydrocarbons, like carbon tetrachloride.<br>
Deficiencies: Fluorocarbon is not recommended for Skydrol, amines, esters and ethers with low molecular weight and hot hydrofluoric acids.<br>
Applications: Fluorocarbon o-rings are very versatile, and features in many different automotive, appliance and chemical processing industries.<br>

-Neoprene<br>
<br>
Suited for: Neoprene can seal refrigerants in refrigeration and air conditioner units, as well as petroleum oils and mild acid resistance silicate ester lubricants.<br>
Deficiencies: Finished neoprene products are often compounded with lead-based agents, which can be hazardous to human health. Additionally, some people are allergic to basic neoprene. In a functional sense, it is not very resistant to petroleum lubricants and oxygen.<br>
Applications: Neoprene functions well in refrigeration units of air conditioning systems.<br>
Temperature range: Between -65 degrees Fahrenheit and 300 degrees Fahrenheit. <br>

-Polyurethane<br>
<br>
Temperature range: Between -65 degrees Fahrenheit and 212 degrees Fahrenheit.<br>
Suited for: Polyurethane features abrasion and extrusion resistance, as well as general toughness.<br>
Deficiencies: Applications requiring good compression and heat resistance would not be suitable for polyurethane.<br>
Applications: Polyurethane o-rings are often used for hydraulic fittings, cylinders and valves, pneumatic tools, and firearms.<br>

-Silicone<br>
<br>
Temperature range: Between -120 degrees Fahrenheit and 450 degrees Fahrenheit, although silicone o-rings have been shown to withstand -175 degrees Fahrenheit during short periods of exposure.<br>
Deficiencies: Silicone exhibits poor tear resistance, abrasion and tensile strength. Their poor abrasion resistance means they are better suited for static applications than dynamic. They do perform well with water, steam or petroleum fluids, either.<br>
Applications: High temperature fuel injection ports can use silicone o-rings.<br>
Temperature range: Between -100 degrees Fahrenheit and 500 degrees Fahrenheit.<br>
Suited for: Pure PTFE o-rings are very rigid and hard to apply, but PTFE encapsulated o-rings handle surface wear well, in addition to exhibiting corrosion and abrasion resistance, non-permeability, chemical inertness and low absorption.<br>
Deficiencies: Like silicone, PTFE is rigid and is better suited to static applications.<br>
Applications: Examples of PTFE o-ring use includes automotive steering devices and paint guns.[/i]
