I paid $13,500 for 7610HSD with folding rops and LA352 loader last year. Also included 50hr service filters and oils. Don't know what the MMM is doing to your price.

Not a good idea unless you are trying to break up heavy clay. Woodchips make soil more acidic, so you'll have to add lots of lime to correct the pH. Heavy lime will react with nitrogen fertilizers and release ammonia gas causing your fertilizer to burn out before the grass can use it.

Your 7510 should be the same as my 7610. Pull back, and the rear engages at 540. Push forward, and the rear engages to 960 and the mid to 2500 (at the same time). What would someone do if they had a midmount mower and some other rear implement attached at the same time? Doesn't make much sense, but then again, I don't use the mid PTO.

Modification done. Removed the male knuckles from each end of the shaft, and tig welded a 1/2" impact wrench u-joint to each end. Had to cut 3/4" from the telescopic part of the shaft for overall length. Using larger u-joints might put too much stress on the gearbox--would rather shear the shaft. I also loosened the belt to slip when bound up. $14 total. Ran for several hours without incident.

"wooded acres"...regardless of the brand, make sure it's not too big physically so it can maneuver around trees. 24-30HP, folding ROPS, and R1 tires would be a start. Like Ken said, the R4's plug up and get slick fairly easily. Only get R4's if you plan to run across the lawn a lot. Get 30+ HP if you plan to purchase a chipper.

These work really well for self-priming pumps, but not for shallow-well pumps:

The chipper manual parts list is fairly cryptic. Can anyone tell me what size the belts are (any cross reference numbers?) Looking for the feed roller belt right now, but will eventually need the drive belts also.

Ken--Am at the top of Pumpkin Ridge, so cell service is really bad. Am on WOEC, but didn't know about the broadband. Thanks for the input! If you have any line of site to Forest Grove/Banks/Gaston, you can get WiFi service from http://whiz.to or http://www.wifi-nw.com. I have too many trees in the way for that too.

"Its ok for a short time then blows." How many clearance/tail lights do you have? You may simply be exceeding the current limit of the fuse. Example, let's say your truck has a 10A fuse for this circuit and the truck draws 3A and the trailer draws 7A. The fuse will hang in there for awhile, but will eventually blow. If you only have a few lamps on the trailer, then there may be an intermittant short that manifests itself when the trailer hits a bump.

I guess in small quantities, it probably isn't that noticeable. However, for larger consumers of diesel (like large farms, truck drivers, loggers, etc), it seems that already-thin margins are disappearing. If these consumers start losing money and stop operating, what will the ripple effects be in the economy? At what price would you park your equipment?

I'm in the process of doing the same thing. Check out documents such as http://www.ext.vt.edu/pubs/fisheries/420-011/420-011.pdf . Much of the information is based on Federal guidelines for pond building. If you are the type of person who is "above board" on everything, then you may find yourself in a permitting nightmare. Otherwise, dig and enjoy.

The more stringent you are, the more they rebel when they taste freedom (trust me, that's what I did). If your kid doesn't have common sense and life-skills by the time he/she is 17, then it's probably too late.

I had seen in another post that you had gotten a professional unit. I had considered asking you, but didn't think you would take a 35% hit on the price since you can only claim the tax credit once on any given machine. Do you still use yours, or have you switched over to the bigger chipper only?

This happened to me when I was in college the first time. Reagan came into office and changed all of the lending rules, causing many students to drop out. The rules are now set up so that 1) you come from extreme poverty, 2) you have been completely separated from your parents for a few years and are still in poverty, 3) you are a minority. If you don't fit that profile, the feds expect the parents/student to pay. Loans, grants, and scholarships are rare for single caucasian males who are fresh out of high school with parents that aren't welfare cases. In other words, your kids will have to work hard to pay their way through college while some deadbeat flunky cashes in all of the scholarships and grants, only to drop out after the first year or so.

Grew up in SE Alaska around float planes and took many flights through weather that should have killed us all. Lost all fear of flying as a result. Finally started/obtained my license in 2000. Soloed and checked out on fixed wing at FAA minimum hours. Too expensive now, so I let my currency lapse and started flying models instead.

Thanks guys. Price wasn't really the problem, just availability. Hadn't considered the warranty issue. The nearest Kubota dealer has limited hours, so it's hard to catch someone there. I guess I'll just have to stock up on a few Kubota filters next time I see them open.

This is probably legit. I am an electronics engineer, and know that the cable industry is very paranoid. Basically, they "snoop" for certain frequencies that are only likely to come from the cable system. These signals usually come from illegal cable descramblers, so yes, they WILL cut your service if you don't comply--a quick call to your provider would have confirmed his ID. The problem can also come from bad wiring, poor crimp connectors, malfunctioning vcr/tv, etc. The attitude of the cable industry is "guilty until proven innocent." Best of luck with this.

Is this a sticker on the dash, a sticker under clear plastic, or the whole panel? The plastic panel on my brother's BX22 dash came off. It was only stick on with double-sided foam tape. Some silicone sealant fixed it.
