I traded in my BX22 last fall for a L2800 w/ FEL and BH and have been enjoying the heck out of it. I run a dog boarding/ day care business w/ 2 acre fenced pasture with a total of 4.5 acres to mow. A lot of other work with it as well. Irrigation pond maintenance, tilling, snow removal, grading, raking, post holes, trenching, seeding, fertilizing, landscaping, etc. A lot of tractor for the money and I am very satisfied. Just wanted to share my happiness.

I just recently traded in my bx22 for a L2800,29 hp w/more torque than the 7800. I have a Kenneling business with 4.5 acres of mowing, posthole digging (bh75 w/ 10' bucket), trenching, irrigation pond excavation, grading, snow blowing (3pt),york raking and roto tilling. I seriously considred the L3400 which is the same tractor with 5 more hp. The cost was 1200 to 1500 more and concluded that all it would do is use more fuel. Unlees you are going to run pto operated machinery that requires more than 22.5hp the L2800 is a lot of tractor for the money.

Have you considerd a nice quality multi-tool.They are so practical. I always loved knives growing up, but found the swiss army able to many things I realy didn't need. I like the leatherman series (super tool 200), but there are many out there now that are made really well and are specialized very nicely.

Thanks for taking the time Art. That is close to what I had in mind. I have a new 30 ton 3pt wood splitter of the back that is set to hook up to the loader hydro pump and it has a plow blade that has brackets inside the loader bucket to attach it. I am looking for about 3800.00 for the whole rig.

I bought my bx22 from a dealer in central Ma (Williamsburg) 3 1/2 years ago. I would not go back. There is one dealer in Holyoke Ma. but I am not crazy about them either. I find it interesting in this day and age that some of these dealers aren't more accommodating. I moved from the midwest over fifteen years ago and I am still not used to the harshness overall. Western CT. has a dealer that I have been utilizing and has been great even though I did not buy the tractor from them. R&N in Torrington. It is definitely out of your way but may be worth it.

I am looking for a b7800 and have contacted three different dealers within 45 miles from where I live. It won't be simple because of my trade in (bx22). Just wanted to know if anyone has been quoted a price with a BH and Loader?

I have a BX22 that I am putting a front mount snowblower on and wanted to know if anyone is aware of a product that will protect you from the direct blow back of the snow or wind without having to go to the expense a solid framed cab enclosure?

I was told that the snow blower for both the BX22 and the BX24 are the same. I don't know if it would be the same for the BX23 but I assume that it would be. I was thinking of buying the blower for now and consider the exchange of tractors for later, even possibly selling the BX22 myself than buying the BX24 outright which was quoted for a price of 16,500.

All the BX tractors are the same in color. Going with Kubota is fine if you don't mind paying three times the price. I can't see the enabling of there prices. Tractor supply JI case red flambeau is the way to go.

Thanks for the reply. Where do you usually go to take an oil sample to be tested? I am definitely interested in following up with this on a regular basis. I am going by what the Rep at Amsoil said but regular monitoring would seem to be in order.

I have come to appreciate that there are many regional differences between what is considered #1 and #2 diesel. My understanding is that #1 diesel here in New England includes kerosene in it. I may be mistaken. I live in northern CT as well and we have been getting 10 to 25 below for a few weeks out of the winter as well. I have not yet had trouble starting my BX keeping quality on road fuel in it.

All the weight on the tractor and attacments can be found at the Kubota web site by looking at the specs and comparisons.
The 54" mmm is approx. 227#/ 60" around 265". The tractor alone 1520#. 2520# with fel and bh attached. I am guesstimating the bh is about 700#.

#1 diesel is not the same as kerosene. I just had 150 gallons of winterized diesel delivered to prepare for the upcoming rise in prices this winter. I specifically asked for the premium grade. It was explained to me that #1 diesel is in general is a high grade fuel. Meaning higher cetane and less sulfer. For the winter they then add 40% kerosene and additives (anti-gel). The farmers and heavy equipment operators have been swearing by this dealers fuel mixture for over 20 years now. I was told that #2 fuel is very close if not the same as heating oil and offroad diesel (has the red dye added).I only run the #1 premium grade. Injector and pump repair is just not worth the differnce.

I can understand the concern for balancing the weight, but doesn't the bh itself weigh at least 700lbs or more in of itself. It would seem that the weight of the bale may be slightly further out but the actual weight shouldn't effect the tires. The combined weight of the whole unit is over 2500 lbs. The base unit without the fel and bh is 1500 lbs. It would seem that an 700 lb bale would by no means overload the tires or put excessive stress on the frame. Only putting the weight in the fel to counterbalance as stated earlier.

I have a BX22, and I am wanting to purchase a box blade. I have a 5' rear grader blade, that I still haven't used that I could exchange if needed. The questions I have are 1) Is a 5' box blade to big (425#) and 2) Would I be better off going with a 6' rear grader blade. I would be mostly using it light road and pasture work and snow removal.

If you have up to 10 acres and want a versatile machine, going with the bx23 is a wise move. Most tractors that are bigger, you won't necessarily need, and cost close to same without the backhoe. The bx23 is built to the hilt and as stated in the previos message, you'll love having the convenience and versatility the backhoe adds. You can't effectively add a bh onto a subcompact without a lot of hassle, not to mention the cost to do so afterwards if it possible isn't practical.
