I spent half that much on a MF 35 (diesel) and a new brush hog (Rhino). 38hp and 3800 lbs and it never hesitates in mowing 18 acres of grass and tall thick weeds. I will be buying a 6' grader (angle) blade soon to maintain my gravel drive. I just about took the plunge on a new compact but for my use I'm glad I didn't. I don't use my tractor for business and I don't need it everyday so I feel financially smarter when it is sitting. I am glad I spent a little more on the new Rhino. It does a nice job.

Probably left rear. I had new JD4200 and at about 20 hours,found lugs nuts loose, more so on left rear. Dealer said vibration loosens as lugs are tightened at factory on top of new paint.

Marty, sorry that's happened. But you might get the welding shop to bend a new piece of steel to the same config as your old arm. I don't know if that would be cheaper than going to Kubota or not, I expect it would be tho. You can buy new ball links at TSC, but you'll have to find the right thickness bar stock to weld them to.<br>Good luck, <br>Bob<br>(surely there is something cheaper than Kubota parts out there.)

Since you are wanting more weight I was just wondering why you aren't looking at a small used ag tractor (MF 35, JD 2040, Ford 3000)which are much more readily available and less $ than the compacts, especially a new one.

Thanks for all of the useful info! I realize I have even more to think about than I realized. Further question about the brakes. I have a F150, 2wd with towing package. This includes a 7-pin plug, which I assumed meant I could work electric brakes. Does this still mean I need a controller in the truck, as Shawn states? Also, Shawn, can you tell me what surge brakes are and how they work?<br>I looked at a 16' trailer today, P/T deck, split fold down ramps, elec. brake on one axle, 5000# cap., stake pockets, manufactured by Currahee out of Ga. Initial price $1395. Anyone familiar with this brand, and does this price sound in line?

KEEP IT!! Around here you could get $3500 but I would still not part with it. I tried to buy a TO-35 from a tractor jockey who knew I liked it so when I came back to make the deal he RAISED the price and was going to charge me for the top link! I left but still like the tractor and wished I could buy it for a fair price.
