I LIVE IN CONNECTICUT AND PLAN ON BUYING A B2710 WITH A FRONT END LOADER AND AG TIRES.I SEE CURTIS MAKES A LOADER BLADE THAT YOU CAN PUT ON IN PLACE OF THE BUCKET. HOW WELL DO THESE WORK? I HAVE A 750' GRAVEL DRIVEWAY. DOES A REAR BLADE WORK BETTER? ANY THOUGHTS WOULD BE HELPFUL.

Agreed that hp is a concern, how much per inch of material is difficult, green wood or dry, what kind of wood, etc. Others to try, Patu DC40- one dealer has a web site, www.brushchippers.com also Danuser at www.danuser.com and Bearcat already noted.

Couldn't agree more with Roger L,<br>I would use the loader for a year or so, before thinking about a snowblower.<br>Obviously,a loader may not be as good as a snowblower, but is it worth the <br>extra money? Not to mention the extra space and Maintainance required. I would <br>also recommend using the Lighter grade oil, as specified in your manual. <br>15-40 might be a little heavy for the long cold nights of Minnesota. As far as<br>a block heater, if you need it first thing in the morning, plug it into a heavy <br>duty timer, rather than leaving it on all night. Secondly, buy winterized <br>Diesel fuel, or blend it with Kero.(If necessary, down to a 60/40 ratio,or so I've been told).<br>Never had to blend fuel here in Eastern.PA. The winterized fuel works fine.<br>You'll never look back at a gasoline engine, after seeing the performance and<br>fuel economy of a Diesel:)

Good Point!<br>I use clean motor oil, as spec'd in the manual. Not as convenient as a spray,<br>but very in-expensive, with no threat of deterioration. Adding to that, I had <br>a special chain spray/lube that was real good at pitting my aluminum wheels on my<br>Quad, I would assume it could do the same to paint.

The YM276 does not have live pto, but can be operated like it has one. The transmission can be shifted without clutching. The gears are shifted by hydraulically activated clutches.

Ted,<br>Not even including the performance benefits to Synthetic oils, I thought you might like to <br>see how they can also save you money. Doing a little math,I average +30k miles a year, and<br>an oil change requires 5 quarts. Changing oil at the manufactures 7500 mile mark for petro, <br>and doing the work myself,a petro oil change is ~$7-10 for oil, 5 buck for a filter. <br>Yielding $48-$60 a year in costs, minus my time. The synthetic I use(AMSOIL),recommends 1 year <br>or 25k mile changes, Due to winter weather, I find it easier to change twice a year, spring/fall<br>(~15k miles). At approx $5 a quart, $30 a change w/filter OR $60 a year. Looking at a $12-15 petro <br>change, vs $30 Synthetic change, I can see why one would think Synthetics more expensive. <br>BUT, Not even considering my time, Picking up a true 1-1.5 mile to the gallon <br>better fuel econo over Petro in my Acura yields approx $.40 saving per 300 mile/10 gal <br>fill-up,based upon $1.15 A GAL/13 gal tank),$1.20 a week,$62.40 a year savings in fuel. This means <br>I not only recover the cost of the oil change, but I also save $2.40 a year more than my oil costs. <br>Still doesn't sound worth while? Looking at the 183,000 miles on the odo of my 9 year old Acura, and <br>using the figures mentioned above. Petro changes would have cost me ~$432-$540, not including my time. <br>Synthetics cost me $540 in 9 years, minus a savings of $561.60 in fuel. Meaning, instead <br>of costing me $540 in nine years, I've saved $561.60 over Petro. Did I mention my time? 7500 mile Petro changes <br>would=36 hours total for the average 1 hour oil change,Synth=18Hours for 15k changes. Looking at minimum <br>wages, $5.75x36H=$207, $5.75x18H=$103.5. Or a grand total of $665.10 in savings.<br>And no, I'm not a salesman, just a guy who got tired of changing oil 10 times a year when my<br>old car called for 3k oil changes. That $665.00 just more than doubled!

The left pedal is a clutch. You must engage it to turn the PTO on and when switching ranges on the transmission. For normal operation in a single speed range without the PTO, you never use it. Well you do actually have to push the clutch in to start the thing....

Darned if I know! I'm not sure that they divide their line into compact vs<br>full size tractors. Like the US marketing and manufacturing people do. The<br>tractors just keep getting larger through the range, but have similar features.<br>There is a 35 HP for sale now in Wyoming. A guy in SC was selling a late model<br>grey market 40 something HP recently. This Spring I talked on the phone to a<br>well known grey market importer down South who said that he had imported Yanmars<br>that were close to 100 HP.<br> The largest compact they made when they were importing to the US was the <br>336D. I believe the last year was 1989. This was 33 HP 3 cyl. 12 speed forward,<br>4 reverse power shift with creeper gears. Power steering was integral, not an<br>add on. It had draft and position control on the three point. It had a nice <br>little factory loader with breakout force of 2880 lbs + a 12% reserve.<br> Roger L <br>

To the best of my knowledge, these tractors are made by the DAEDONG INDUSTRIAL<br>CO. of Seoul , Korea, following a joint venture arrangement with Kubota. They are probably an older Kubota design, and many of the kubota parts fit straight in.Theoretically the quality should be the same as Kubota.<br>We have experience with Daedong engines in Australia and generally had good results. Quality control at factory level has been a bit pathchy, with bolts<br>left loose, metal in injectors and other minor problems occuring over the past 5 years. I think with care and common sense, they should perform pretty reliably

Hey Bob,<br>look @ KING KUTTER. all I-beam framed, heavy duty tail wheel & stump jumper standard. Out weighs anything in its class. largest selection of sizes. Excellent price and parts support. I think woods cutters are overrated,<br>underbuilt, and overpriced. your paying for thr name & a pretty package.<br>compare the steel in the mowers & the weights.

You'r right! Blasphemy! But I agree with you. The compacts are just lots of fun,<br>but they are not even in the same arena with small ag tractors for power, traction,<br>features, comfort....and just about anything else you want to name....except <br>resale. The JD compact is the king of resale - although the JD ag tractors are<br>no slouch there either.<br> I think everyone knows this difference in the Ag and compact tractors, but<br>there is one thing on the compact side that makes the difference...FUN! For some<br>indefineable reason the compacts are just pure fun. <br> It sort of reminds me of my old MG sports car. I own a Cub 7260 w/R4s, 417 loader and 60

Currently have 95 hours, about half of these are digging and moving piles
(earth, gravel, mulch, etc).
I am VERY pleased with the Cub tractor and 417 loader. It handles 1/2 ton
bucket loads easily. The loader goes on and off easily. The tractor itself
is very well made and feels solid. I have no regrets at all.
