My apologies. I may have had some (or all) of the responsibility for passing on that information. That is what my dealer told me when I bought my collar shift 4200. Three days later he got to prove it and picked up the collar shift and put the hydro on order. I have since found out that he/I was wrong and it only applies to garden stuff. My dealer however still adheres to that policy whether it's a compact tractor or not and, for what it's worth, he has given me the best price I've seen on this board since last fall. But, again, sorry for the misleading information.

I think this 7360 is the newest model for Cub Cadet. With the loader, I seem<br>to recall this being a very good price, since they are selling or advertising the<br>tractor by itself for l9,995.<br>In addition, doesn't this model have the new shuttle transmission ? Sounds feasible, just don't use garden hose with diesel since, I suspect, it will decompose. Use clear vinyl for diesel, which has the added benefit of seeing if any junk has made its way into the hose before it ends up in your engine's filter.

I just bought one last month after first trying out smaller tractors such as JD4400. The frame and wheel/tire size of the 4600 is larger than the 4200 thru 4400 models which is quite noticable when working in rough terrain or when using a backhoe or loader. Bigger is better. It takes much less effort to accomplish tasks with the larger tractor and believe me unless you have lots of spare time on your hands it's worth it! I paid around $28,000 for the 4600 w/R4 tires, 460 loader, 48 backhoe, retract ROPS, rear work light. As far as the 4600 versus other brands, I prefer the JD and have a dealer that's only a mile away. <br>Hope this helps.

Am looking for a new tractor to keep 4 acres of pasture cut and to do small jobs such as snow plowing and post hole digging. I talked with a JD dealer about what is available and he recommended the JD790 as a good buy (30 hp, good solid tractor). Am wondering what a JD790 should cost. He quoted $11,500 and said it had continuous live PTO with two stage clutch. It sounds like a two wheel drive price but I did not think they made a JD790 in 2WD with a two stage clutch (thought that only came on the 4WD). Would like to know if this is a good price for a 2WD and what a 4WD costs as well.

The product you describe has been out for several years, and recently seems to be available under several different names. We have used it with great success, especially in tractors doing rotary cutter work in areas with locusts and haw apples. No flats from thorn punctures...as in zero, nada, none. Available in our area at TSC(Tractor Supply) in GALLONS for about $20, plus $10 for the plastic pump.

One point. If money is an issue, you might want to consider 2nd hand. While still expensive, I've seen relatively cheap prices on some later model Fords. Don't expect too much of a discount from "new" for late model Kubota's, Deeres and the like, though.
When my wife agreed on the tractor - I moved quick! She has seen the results a modern compact will provide and I don't think she'd balk at an attachment expense now. 'Didn't say a word when I drove in with the box blade in the back of the truck.

I don't know your machine, but my experience with a JD755 (20 hp, HST) is that the mower uses a lot of hp. I would just use a low range, because if you loose too much engine speed and therefore mower blade speed you will be going back over it anyway. As far as the guide wheels, they should not be rolling/dragging along the ground but, in fact, as you have them just above. Take a look at these wheels - they are not made for continuous ground contact/rolling. If there is a high point on the ground, the wheel(s) will engage and push the deck up to minimize scalping.

Stan,<br>I too am from NE PA, near Shickshinny. A post from Shickshinny is as rare as a hen's tooth. I began plowing my 700 ft. drive in the early seventies (8N, chains, & backblade) and have found that on my rough drive it is easier on the equipment to plow while going forward...when you hook up on a rock you usually bounce the plow over it. When you hook up going backwards you usually hook up!!! and boiinngg do some damage. My backblade would do well as part of a smiley face. Even when I have angled the blade to lean far into the snow, forward, for me, is better in the rough. On my Dad's paved drive direction matters little.

Drop the bucket to the ground and apply a little pressure to lift some weight off of the front wheels. Then, release the latches (one on each side) by lifting up slightly and then pulling out to the stop. Now, with the latches disengaged,

<br>i purchased a 98 model 1920 4x4 ,shuttle shift, w loader w 100hrs the tractor was 13000.00, loader 2000.00 heavy box blade 400 total 15400.00. i looked at the 4500 of jd and kubotas 3410 and the 1920 just seemed heaiver built. im a building contractor and all the plastic and fiberglass on the other models just didnt seem up to everyday use. test drove all three and the 33hp new holland seemed to be the better tractor. the loader comes off after disconecting 4 hyd. lines and no bolts in about 3min. and is still a tight fitting loader. ive owned a yanmar,rented a kubota(week rentals) and both tractors were dependable, but i couldnt justify the extra costs of these units. i read this board for about 6 months before i made my decision, one thing you will find is that a lot of people are color blind so take everything with a grain of salt. drive um all and decide whats best for you. good luck
