bob- don't how big a 750 is nor if it has 4wd but , yep, it'll plow snow with chains. Might have to jerk around a bit cause it won't be as convienient as a front mounted plow, but it will move snow. bo

that is a good idea about the disc mower, bruce, but my boss does not want to spend the money for another implement. i have a jd 870 with a 7' sickle mower and i do sometimes use it around the pond, but not often as i have to haul the tractor a long distance. for the meantime i just tighten the seat belt, hang on and pray. thanks for the input, bruce.

I used a rear loader on the back of an 8N. It worked well and the only complaint I had was that it wouldn't achieve sufficient height for repeated dumpings in one spot.

Thanks for your response Tom. I got my tractor and REALLY love it. I haven't
mowed with it yet, but the backhoe is a small demon. Yes, I have to DIG out the oak stumps, but it goes through clay and loose cobblew with no trouble. Love my little green machine.

The reason that you can jump start your tractor from your car is that by connecting to car you are hooking your batteries in a series curcuit still using twelve volts but, have increased your starting amperage twice fold. Your question in regard to the location of the starter solenoid, is located internally on your starter. You have a purple single approx 14-16 gauge which sends the signal to the starter. When you locate wire and test curcuit you should have 95 percent or more battery voltage when you ingage starter switch. The add on solenoid usually mounts somewhere to the intake manifold.

IF Carver's dealership was near KC instead of NC, it would probably have made choosing a tractor much more difficult. I'll second Mike's recommendation of Lawn and Leisure of Lee's Summit and Blue Springs, MO for John Deere as well as commercial mowers and about anything for cutting wood, weeds and lawns--great prices and service and a nice attitude. Saw some pics of a neat rear loader set-up. Traditional front loader expense hard to swallow for occasional small feed lot scraping and picking up stuff around property since tractor (Ford 8n) primary use is cutting weeds with a 5' rotary. Any thoughts...good/bad? Appreciate your input---Mike D. (happy2k!)

Face the same thing myself (1710 in my case). There have been really long threads on this and other boards about after market supplier filters, oils etc..

I think some web sites where filter numbers are cross-referenced are identified
in some of the posts (here or tractorbytel).

For myself, after reading all the posts, there is considerable doubt in my mind that all after market substitutes are of equal quality or function to dealer parts. Anyway, I'll stick with dealer parts until I can do a bunch more checking. Filters, even dealer ones, aren't a big expence unless big hours are put on the tractor. Filters cost a little, while tractors cost a lot. Cheap filters may not be a good bet.

Dave, I cannot understand your dealer's motivation. So what if it will start without a block heater in the bitter cold? Who cares? Surely he will agree that a warm engine starts easier, has better lubrication, and better clearances (less wear) than a cold one. And that this also applies to the hydraulic system.
IMHO, not having a block heater for cold weather is poor mechanical practice. And they are dirt cheap. I don't think that I've ever seen one that went fifty bucks installed. Maybe the green-painted ones would be slightly more :-), but I doubt it. If you don't use it, it does absolutely nothing in the tractor - pro or con. It's just there if you want to use it.
I have never heard anyone argue against a block heater in any way. Even the sealing system for the thing is better than the freeze plug that it replaces.

As a point of clarification, my equipment is how I make my living, I don't run 'cheap' ANYTHING. All my equipment runs 100% Amsoil product, and gets maintained to DEATH. I cannot afford to use inferior products, as break-downs or less than full life expectancy is money out of my pocket. The problems I am having are strictly Hydro. related, nothing to do with fluids/filters, I know this because the first thing Kubota's tech.'s said was "non-Kubota products...." so I drained all fluids, rinsed machine and refilled/replaced with Kubota's products. Result, even WORSE performance, and HIGHER operating temps....... Judge for yourself or ask anyone else who uses synthetics.

Chris....I own a 1320 NH with a 7308 loader and heavy duty bucket, 68". The bucket is a little large for the tractor, need a little more rear weight, but it works great. I have moved 2 1/2 washed rock and plenty of dirt and snow with it. The one thing I would suggest is looking at something with quick-tatch bucket and attachments. Would really make the loader more versatile. Just my opinion. Good luck!

I have the same problem with my 1530. If you go from any neutral all the way to the rear and then to desired setting, It works fine. Or as you do, shirt, fwd or back with hydro slightly and it will shift without fuss.

Bob, I've talked to you before and really appreciate your help a few years ago when I ordered my first tractor section and 5 or 6 implement sections, and three or four times I've talked to you since. Since then, I've ordered several more tractor sections and 7 or 8 implement for friends that wanted them, and half a dozen more implement sections for myself. Besides that, I know half a dozen people who've seen mine and ordered them, and a bunch that have emailed me after messages I've posted online about them. Some of them have subsequently purchased them, too. I should've bought stock...

I've even got most of the kinks out of a mock-up approach to getting a posthole digger to work with it (as long as you've got another top-link hole on the tractor for the end of the boom to fit in, of course).

There's no doubt in my mind that you've got an incredible product. If I had to go back to changing all the stuff I've got the old way, I think I'd get rid of at least half of it. It just wouldn't be worth having it to go to the trouble of changing it.

One set I ordered from you was for my mother-in-law (now if that doesn't prove we're on good terms, I don't know what does...). She absolutely loves it. She's pretty mechanically inclined but not into getting beat up changing equipment around, so she thinks they're great. She'd like them even better if I had let her change implements the old way awhile instead of delivering the Freedom Hitch all set up and ready to go when I delivered her new tractor to her. She doesn't really appreciate what she's missing!

Anyway, in the next month or so, I'll get around to calling you. I need several more implement sections...
