Mower Axle Stand Pros:
Cons:
(1 to 5 Tractors 5=Excellent) After you buy your new tractor with loader and MMM a thought will undoubtably cross your mind after you take off the MMM for the winter. Hmmmmmmm! That deck sure takes up alot of my garage floor space. Well what the heck it's only four or five months, I'll just navigate around it until spring. Then after the first trip over it, you say to yourself there must be a better way. If I could only hoist it up out of the way, maybe a pulley and some straps.... Well in steps Mower Deck Axle Co with their innovative deck stands. Larry of Mower Deck has come up with a truly neat idea that utilizes the MMM's anti-scalp or gage wheel holes to mount a stand that allows you to put your MMM in a vertical position for storage and routine maintenance.
Mower Deck Axle ships out with two spindles, four wheels, and a safety chain along with quick release for the safety mounting on the garage wall. The sample we received was very thoughtfully packaged, with plenty of protective wrap on the axles. We installed the stand on a Kubota RCK60-24B mower deck. After removing the deck from the B7610 tractor we used a 4" by 4" block of wood to support the deck while we removed the front gage wheels, and replaced them with Mower Deck axle shafts and wheels. After attachment of the stand we lifted the deck upright. This was a one person job and was very easy.
After the deck was upright we noted that the deck was surprisingly stable, and allows you to perform regular maintenace more easily. But at about 300 pounds the safety chains are a must, make sure you attach then securely to a stud in your garage wall. The deck could be moved very easily as long as you want to move in straight line. To overcome this we took two tripod dollies and put them under the Mower Axle stand wheels, this allowed the deck to be moved sideways. The tripod dollies were then removed when we had the deck in its final storage position.
