The 3 point hitch on my 7265 has all of a sudden gone awry. The raise/lower lever became very stiff and the hitch will no longer go all the way down. My finish mower now sits 8 inches of the ground at the lowest point. any help?

Do you have a mid-mount mower that is raised with the 3 point or a rear mower? Make sure the down position limit stop hasn't slid into position limiting the downstroke. Suggest oiling or lubing the pivot points on the lever and checking to insure that all fasteners are properly in place. ....

I agree with Yooper. I have a 1998 CC 7305 and had the same problem. Turned out the pivot points in the linkage had gotten pretty sticky. Mine sits outside for much of the summer and I assume that it rusted/gummed up. Nothing a little lubricating oil and working the linkages back and forth for a bit didn't fix!

Good luck! ....

When my linkage started to stick on my 7274 (1996)I had actually bent the hitch lifting handle, I bent that back. To resolve the sticking problem I removed the pannels on both sides of the seat. On the left side of the seat is where I found the sticking problem, You will see how the linkage shaft comes out the on the left side (opposite of the lifting hadle side) Loosten up the linkage and lubricate and re-adjust, and has worked great ever since.
