Just for fun, let's have an informal vote. After viewing the web site below, reply with whether you prefer the "Boomer" in red or traditional blue. Being an old Farmall boy, I cast my vote for the red - I think it looks sharp. Don't hold back now - say what you think!

I'd go red if they had the super-steer option. Any other differences besides paint and plastic color??

So far we have a virtual deadlock! The official vote tally stands at 2 votes for Blue, 2 votes for Red, 1 vote for Nader, 1 vote for Buchanan, and 1 Undecided. I wanted to recount, but my wife (who is a brunette) has said no. This is like deja vu all over again. ....

Diesel Dave, at this point Blue has a commanding lead. Voting will officially end tomorrow night, one week after it started. Looks like Red Boomers are not going to displace Blue Boomers. BTW, Art White, do you guys sell both? Or do you only get to sell one or the other? Since you guys are both Case and NH dealers, how do you handle this? ....

Michigander, you get the same loader as with the NH. On the D/DX25, D/DX29, and D/DX33 you get the 7308 painted red and called a L130. On the D/DX35, D/DX40, and D/DX45 you get the 16LA painted red and called a L160. How could they not use the 16LA? It's one of the best features of the big boomers. ....

JeffM, I was surprised that they had install a different loader as well. Must be just the local dealer that installed them. The loaders are red but are definitly not the same as the NH loaders. The are square cornerd, ugly loaders! ....

The web site shows the 16LA equivalent for the D/DX35, 40, and 45 tractors. Which size tractor did you see this loader on? Your description sounds like the 7308 equivalent, which would be on the D/DX25, 29, or 33. ....

Jeff we don't sell either, we have never sold the NH tractor line only the hay and forage, up to the self propelled choppers. We do have a strong NH dealer in the area of one of our stores and the option was not open to us. We do not feel the need to have a third line of compact tractors. Just to listen to you fellows about what you run into when you get to a dealer and find uneducated sales people I don't know that I want that! I do believe that when Case puts the info out about the 10 years and 10,000 hours I feel that that will have them in the running. ....

10 year, 10K hour warranty? If they put that on their compacts, then you are absolutely correct: Red Boomers will rule! (I know you didn't say THAT, Art, I'm just agitating the readership.) ....

Jeff the package is sweet and they are supposed to put it on the DX series as well as there big tractors. Now that excites me as I don't think the other companies can afford to. Kubota I think could do it for the tractors they are building, I don't think they will antie up and offer it do to the potential costs to them. I feel the other manufacturers in the big tractor lines can't afford the option at all. ....

Art, at least in the compacts it would seem that Kubota has superior reliability and lack of problems. Therefore they should be able to afford the extended warranty more than others. Of course, Case can use an extended warranty as a product differentiator to gain market share and use the added reserve cost (to cover the warranty) to offset marketing and advertising costs. I assume your dealership(s) now carry Kubota and Cub Cadet compacts... do you plan to include the Case DX compacts in the future? Or will the close proximity of a NH compact dealer prevent that? If this is sensitive info, just tell me to MYOB. Its just that I find it fascinating that NH is marketing the Boomers under the Case-IH banner - I think it's great. ....

The added costs are nominal for Case. They require that oil samples be sent in to check the componets at oil change intervals. They also require there oil and filters be used and yearly inspections. You also have to follow the owners manual for periodic manitence. We have many of there tractors out with larger hours on than there warrantee will be with no failures. I do have some that are going to make them fail no matter what they do. The idea of having one tractor in multi colors is not new. JD and Yanmar, IH and Mitsibitshi in the compact tractor lines are a few of some of the recent ones with more coming from the merger of Case and NH. Buhler and NH in the US and Lambergini and Case-ih in europe are some new ones to look at. ....
