I went to the local dealer to see about what kind of deal I could get on a new MF 1533 model with the cab option. I was quoted $21,500.00 for the tractor with R4 tires. I'm confused here.?????

I always thought Kubota was the highest priced compact tractors you could buy but thats just not the way it is at least not in my area. The 1533 w/cab is 33hp the Grand L Kubota model 3430 with cab is 35hp and is full hydrostat and it is $1000.00 to $1500.00 less with the same R4 tires. Was quoted $20,500.00

Whats up with a higher price and less hp and options? Is the higher cost due to the red paint? Or maybe the dealer is just sky high on the price?

Mark

One thing, the Massey 1533 cab comes standard with the joystick hydraulic valve where the Kubota does not have external hydraulics as standard. The MF cab is much nicer than the Kubota as well. If you have not sat in both you should. The MF cab is quite a bit larger. ....

For the price difference you can definitely have the hydraulics for the loader installed. Everytime someone moves a tractor someone will make money. Massy doen't build those tractors but they will make money just like the company that builds them. Kubota builds their own as well as sells them to dealers. This most often means more for less. ....

Yes, you can add hydraulics to the Kubota but the factory joystick on the MF is a cleaner way to go. ....

I would love to set in the 1533 with cab to see the difference compared to the Kubota. I have had a chance to set in the Kubota and liked what I saw but a bigger roomer cab would be worth the extra $$. Only problem ,have yet to find anyone in my area that has one. I'm in the Nashville Tn area. ....

I bought a L3430 Kubota with cab and hydrostatic
transmission last year for about that price. It is
a great tractor and you wont be sorry. The air conditioning, radio, and heater are wonderful.
I also got a 62inch front snowblower and it was
well worth it. I used backblades and a truck plow
for nearly 40 years and I would put this up against
any of them.

My L3430 came standard with a joystick etc.
I use a 62 inch front snowblower in the winter
and have a Rhino loader that I put on in the
summer. Not sure what you mean by not coming
standard. I did not have to ask for it.
I should add I have a L3430 with hydrostatic and cab.
I guess it is debatable as to if the cab was optional.
It wasnt for me. They showed one with a cab and I
told the guy-that is what I want.

I found a 1533 w cab in northern alabama and I plan on visiting just to compare and be able to set in the cab to "see and feel" the difference.

I was told by the MF dealer the 1533 was a nicer machine than the Kubota 3430hstc and that the Kubota had more plastic on it and was more of a "value machine". I did the spec comparison and I don't see where MF is the better machine on paper. The Kubota weights almost 700 lbs more and has slightly better hyd GPM as well. The saleman also went on to say the MF had a bigger A/C on it with a more roomey cab. ....

doc,

Your dealer added the joystick before you looked at it. From the factory, it is not a factory option but a dealer installed option after the dealer receives the tractor. My point was when pricing, the MF comes with the joystick 100% of the time. The Kubota may or may not depending on if the dealer adds it to it. ....

I had finally got a chance to test drive the MF. I was impressed with the cab likewise, it did have a little extra headroom and the overall quality was very nice. The tractor was smooth shifted good. It was a shuttle shift 8x8 4x4 with factory cab.

After having driven both the Kubota and the MF I will buy the Kubota for the main reason of the HST transmision and the extra weight of the tractor. The overall quality I think goes to kubota. At least in the smaller tractors.

Thanks to all for your input and responces.

Did you go as far south as Cullman to see the Massey? I am not sure there is anything else in that size range with cab. The Kioti DK45 with cab is a similar price, but larger HP. I have not seen the DK45 with the cab only the DK65. It was well intergrated. ....

I did get to see the MF at Empire farm days and it didn't look bad. I do prefer the loader pins being end drilled for lubrication as well as protectors on the rims when the industrial tires are used and there were several other little advantages for the orange. ....
