Its been established that I can't use the 7800 for what I want(trenching) so the decision comes back to whether I need a 24,27, or 2910 to do my trenching, mowing and general maintanance! or possibly get an older 2150??

I think you can use a 7800 for trenching. I plan to use mine. In the other thread you asked about a rear hydro block. Rear plugs may be necessary, but can be added to the 7800. They are an option on the 2710 and 2910 also. Don't confuse the rear hydro block with rear plugs. All the rear block allows is another place to tap into the tractor hydro system for adding rear remote plugs.
The 2410, 2710, and the 2910 are all compatable with Kubota's trencher as listed by Kubota because of the rear block. If you are going with the 24xx series, I would recommend at least the 2710 for both the pto hp and the size of the frame. Trenchers can really test a tractor. The 7800 is the same size and has the same drive train as the 2910, just has some of the features the 2910 has removed for economy. If trenching is your major concern, talk to your Kubota dealer. I think you will find that the 7800 can be set up for a trencher just fine. ....

Man, Go for the B-2910....I just got mine about 10 days ago...even though I kept my old B-8200.....I love it...it is wonderful! Go for the extras it has over the other tractors you mentioned...and the extra horsepower...This new tractor sounds just one of those big Ford diesel pickups...

2910 vs 2710. I have to agree with Ferrari, assuming the cost delta is something you can live with.
After 6 months 2910 ownership, I now can comprehend the differences and appreciate them. THe truth is in the details, more than I can write today.
Things like the 3PH having right side telescopic trailing arm and the rachet link to set the grader blade off horizontal, I grade my driveway with a crown for drainage. Or telescopic, tilt steering wheel (ok, that's over the top) but the cruise control for long field mowing is a kick and more useful than I expected.
It took me a while to read the manual and appreciate the differences. Not the least of which is 30HP and a heavier machine.

As a posted, I have the economy 2910, which is the 7800. What I didn't say is that I have spent a considerable amout of $s adding 2910 features to my 7800. The seat, body panels, 3-point, ..and soon the headlights will be 2910 parts. There are a few features that would require major surgery, position control and cruise, that would't be at all practical. Get the 2910, it makes more sense.
But the way, I really enjoy my "7810". It's a great machine. ....

100% in agreement about the 2910 if possible. Rear hydraulics will be going on my 7800 when I can figure out how. If it was cost effective, position control would too. But I think that's a pipe dream.
The 3pt accessories would also be nice, expecially the ratchet link. But can be worked around.
My work around is a "Pat's Easy Change system" a poor mans I-Match. I think Northern has picked them up, but a google search is the easiest lookup ....

I bought into the B7800 because I just couldn't see paying the extra bucks for an upgrade seat, different location for the cruise control (that I don't believe operates any differently), a tilt seat. The only upgrade I liked was the three point hitch upgrade, but I couldn't see paying for the other goodies. Am I missing something? Otherwise the B7800 is the exact same tractor.

RedTed, there are some other differences that aren't just cosmetic. The 2910 has a position control 3ph hydraulic system, a rear hydraulic block, larger alternator, higher watt headlights, different headlight lenses, rear inside fenders, and a rear body panel to name a few. I have added several of these to my 7800 since the parts are interchangeable, but the position control on the 3ph would be major surgery.
I really like my 7800, but the 2910 has features that justify the $'s. ....

The 2910 and the 7800 have the same engine and drivetrain. They are both 30hp engine gross, 22 pto horsepower. ....
