Four Reasons for the Woods FEL
1) Availability (Kubota Loaders are a month out)
2) Woods specs 3" higher lift than Kubota 73" vs 70"
3) Woods specs higher Lift Capacity 470 vs 460 on Kubota.
(This is what the woods web site states, the Dealer had a book that showed the Lift capacity for the Woods loader at 620)
4) Dealer will sell me the more expensive Woods for the price of the Factory kubota loader.
Cons: FEL Controls remain on the loader when detached.

One Question I would like to pose to those who know, is this: How long does a kubota BX2230 run on a tank of gas mowing? ....

I can mow my 2+ acres of grass with my BX1500 and a 54" MMM twice (easily) before the low fuel light starts flickering on slopes. Lots of obstacles to mow around and many separate sections of lawn. The 1500 has a smaller tank than the 1820/2230. It's best to keep the diesel tank plenty wet though, running out of fuel is not good for a diesel. Requires repriming the fuel system (automatic on Kubotas) but can allow air and water into the system. I always top mine off before every use. ....

I haven't heard of any loader shortage yet. I'd be a little leary as the Woods may be a higher price but the discounts to the dealers is huge! I'm sure you will enjoy your tractor as they are built with a lot of reserve. ....

If I were you, which I am not, I would cancel that order as you will be much happier with the loader controls on the tractor.

I have been to many dealers and have seen most BX 2230 on the lot with the Kubota loader on, I have never seen one on a lot with a woods loader, has any one seen dealers that put Woods loaders on as a common practice? ....

You'll be much happier with the Kubota loader!! Neighbor has the Woods, nothing wrong with it, but my control is so much nicer and more flexible (blade-blower-brush, etc.).

BTW I put nearly 15 hours of snowblowing on my tractor before it needed fuel. Look at my website (Link Below) for more pics. ....

Thank you for the replies.
Not a shortage of Loaders, if I want one, i just have to wait.
I can hold out for a month and get the Factory FEL easily enough. The Dealer has been very straight up with me. The woods was offered as an option. ....

Av8r, I scoped your photos, Thank you for your service, and for Giving some to Her Higness.
I want a three point hitch adapter with a ball for trailers like your set up, but with the reciever style tube instead.
How wide can you swing the lower 3ph arms on the 2230? will a standard cat1 bar fit? ....

Burger: The hitch is a standard "generic" cat 1 draw bar to which I added the upper A-Frame with some scrap steel from work and a bit of welding. I too would like to have a "reciever" style hitch, but I am too cheap to drop $200 for one. I built mine for less than $25. (draw bar was something like $18 at Fleet-Farm)

BTW that is NOT me in the photo, but I wish I had the opprotunity, probably give her more than just the finger! ....

Burger,

I recently had experience with the limits of BX 3-point arms. Bought 30" King Kutter dirt scoop (I'm too cheap to buy an FEL). The lower pins on the scoop are at least 30" apart. The lower arms fit fine, but will come into contact with the 3-point subframe at full lift if the turnbuckle on the lift rod is adjusted too short. This shouldn't be a concern with a stock setup, but I replaced the fixed length lifting rod with another adjustable length rod to acheive a higher overall lift when using my rear blade. ....

The BX2230 will be delivered tomorrow with no loader, a 60" mmm , pd25 post hole auger, and a 48" box scraper.
Should keep me occupied until the loader shows up. ....
