I am new to the tractor world. I bought a used L3300 with FEL and am waiting for my manual to come in, but have a few questions. The three point hitch lowers very slow without a load, is this normal? I also have an idiot light that stays on most of the time. It's orange with a loop to loop sign. What is this, should it be on or off?
Thanks to all who respond.

I've never had a Kubota but it probably has an adjustment for the rate of drop on the 3-point hitch. On my JD it is a knob located at the base of the seat. If you turn it all the way one direction it stops dropping completely, and intermediate positions control the rate of drop. ....

The orange light with the loop is likely the glow plugs. Why they are remaining on? Could be bad thermostat switch? ....

I recently purchased an L3300 kubota. The glow plug light does not light up when I turn the key forward. Does anyone have any ideas for me to check. I am trying to locate a service manual in the meantime.
Thanks ....

As to your liff lowering slow with no load it could be what a matter of what you consider to be slow. With no weight on it will lower slower. There is a knob to adjust the speed with which it lowers. Under the seat, between your legs. I suggest you do this with your load and may find it varies some from cold hyd oil to hot oil.
Light is glow plugs. Why it is on I have no idea but if they are remaining I don't think they will last long.
As how to activate the glow plugs on Kubota, I don't have the same model this was asked on but on my CUT you turn the switch to past the run postion, towards the start postion. You should "feel" a place in there where you must hold it just like in starting postion. THat should operate your glow plugs with the orange light.
On my CUT I have to hold that for about 5 seconds if the motor is cold regardless of the temp. (The lowest I run this tractor in is about 45 degrees.) ....

On some cuts although they maybe a few years old the three point might still be stiff from lack of use. The glow plug light should not be on at all times and there is a problem there. We have had to change some relays, cleaning grounds on others worked to cure the problem. ....

Art do you know what relay is for the glow plugs. I pulled my console apart last week and found 3 relays. I tried to follow the wiring back from the glow plugs but that is almost impossible . I know the models may be layed out a little different but I am sure Kubota keeps this type of thing similar on most models. Mine is the 97 L3300.

There are two for the glow plugs but I'd count on the grounds being the problem more then the switches. Check all grounds on the engine as well as the chassis. ....

There is a knob in front of the seat that controls the speed of the lift on the 3pt hitch.
The yellow light on the dash is the preheat light. It should go out after a few seconds. If not, you have a electrical problem or a bad controller.

If your glow plug light is not coming on, mostly likely you have a bad controller. I bought a used L3300 with the same problem. I replaced the controller and now it works as it should. You can probably get away without this as the tractor starts without the glow plugs, unless you live in a very cold climate. ....

Actually it just started working out of the blue. I tried it this morning and the glow plug light came on for about 4 secs. Where is this controller you are referring to for future reference.
And thanks for all the help to everyone ....
