Hello,
I am the proud owner of a BX1500, & it has done everything I have ask it to do.
My one dislike is the single control for the lawn deck & the 3 point hitch.
Lowering the mower also lowers the 3 point ( my trailer hitch, or my utility platform.
Is there any way to add another valve to isolate the two?

You can lock the deck up by using the height control knob, set it were it says top with the three point all the way up. ....

I knew about the deck height adjustment knob.
I am more concerned about keeping the 3 point up when the deck is down for mowing.
My trailer hitch is about an inch of the grass with the deck down,any bump and I am digging in. The platform although not on all the time would drag on the ground with the deck down.
My lo-boy has a diverter valve to isolate either the deck or the 3 point.

The mower and the 3 pt are both run off the same lift mechanism, so there is no way to isolate one from the other. You can do essentially the same thing you do by setting the mower height to 'top' by diconnecting the top end of the links to the lower control arms of the 3 pt, and connecting them to the anchors on the body of the tractor. The manual does a better job of describing this that I did. The only problem is if you have any weight on the 3pt, you'll have to find a way to support it while you change the connection.

There are brackets to put the lift links in a fixed hole so the three point lift links are stationary. ....

The brackets Art spoke of are near the back and towards the inside of the rear fenders. Just disconnect the lifting rods and re-pin them to the bracket holes. ....

That is a far safer place to put your hitch links when towing items. What might happen from a trailer pushing up the hitch linkage to far could be quite costly! ....

Can you explain "from a trailer pushing up the hitch linkage can be quite costly".
I have a unit that attaches to the 3 point, similar to the "flexpoint system" advertised on tractor point. having the ability to back up to a trailer & raise the 3 point to lock in the trailer hitch is great. seem very strong & safe. With the lift arms attached to the bracket hole at the fender bottoms seems weaker to tow from. The safest point to tow would probably be the trailer hitch hole at the back bottom of the rear end, but having an adjustable hitch point seems ideal.
Please explain your thoughts, I spent enough for this tractor, I do not want to wreck something. All my towing is within a 3 acre area. not on the road,& usually just trailer parking.

Ron,
When towing with the 3Pt hitch, it does not have "down pressure" and therefore can easily lift if your load shifts or you stop too suddenly and the weight of the unit you are towing will "ride the hitch up" which can cause damage to the 3PT, back of tractor and even you. If towing something over uneven ground can also shift the center of gravity which could also cause the hitch to lift. Lots of potential for mishap in a variety of ways one may not even think of.
Some 3PT towing units on line have a chain system to eliminate this problem.

You would need to tie the three point hitch arms so they can't go all the way to the top if the trailer pushes. Yes it might be nice for hooking up and other things but if it does push up the hitch the damage coould be costly. ....
