Anyone have suggestions for a fertilizer spreader that fits a sub compact tractor (BX2230). I've looked at the King Kutter XB series for about $350.00, my dealer has an International for about the same.

The XB fits nice. I have a eurospand and a befco full size on my bx2200 and they fit too. just a litle too big as far as getting them up high enough without the operating handle hiting the rear of the tractor.

the xb stuff is perfect for the bx. It's a little over priced but the right size. I think KK knows they have a loop in the market and hold the prices high. It killed me to buy a 4' xb blade for 20 bucks more than a 5' full size blade but it fits right. ....

I prefer using a 12 volt spreader that mounts in a 2" receiver hitch. This allows on/off with the flip of a switch. The receiver hitch is also a place to put "carry-all" (20 or 24 x 60 platform with short sides)to use when the FEL is not on. ....

I use a Cosmo 500lb. pto spreader on my 4410. I would think their 150 lb. spreader would work on your machine. Be advised that when fully loaded, this spreader will dramatically increase the likihood of rolling the tractor over on a slope, so be careful. ....

Seems a year or so ago someone on the forum said they were using a Worksaver spreader on a JD 2210. I pursued it briefly, but didn't end up buying a spreader so I can't tell you much more than that. ....

One thing I forgot to mention is the fact that these type of spreaders are for large plots of land IMO. I tried 2 of them and they made more of a mess on my 1 acre of grass becuase of the trees and beds. I'm going back to my push spreader and I sold both PTO 3 Pts this week.

How much land are you looking at doing? If it's a normal yard my opinion is to save your $$ and push. I wasn't very happy with mine. Just too big for a "yard" more for doing a field- just my opinion. ....

The more openings normally two is the most the better. Bottom open is the most common on more pro units and adjustable spinners help to contain spread. ....

Earthway makes a very nice 12v receiver mount unit...either in powder coated or stainless. I know that Sears sells them...at least they did a year ago on their online catalog. I did see that Northern Tool and Equipment have similar units also. At Northerntool.com you can check it out. Remember that dust from fertilizer/salt will make the back of your CUT rust pretty quick if you don't wash if off in a timely manner. Good luck finding what you want. ....
