Looking at this model w/ enclosed cab for my new farm/landscape venture for 22 acres.

Minus implements, getting prices around 26-27k. Does this sound about right?

Figure I can compare implement prices separately.

Thanks.

correct that....
Grand L30 w/cab, R4 tires 24,300

Implements:
Loader w/ standard bucket 4750
72" tiller 1500
Finising mower 72" RTH 720 1750
Rotary Cutter Bush Hog 286 1700
Box scraper 525

Total = ~$34000
Does this seem about right?
I have 22 acres of pasture (just got). Will be gardening... landscaping...dabbling in livestock...will be putting permanent house there in a few years. Local guy will cut hay off. For the relatively little price for the 5030 from the 4630 and getting the HST transmission....and significantly more lifting capacity.. thought this was the best bet. ....

Fram what I see, I'd jump on this and in no time.. 34K for all that? The K dealer near me wants more than 34 for a 5030 cab, loader and nothing else.. ....

That is one SWEET machine! Make sure you get some pictures and post them when you close the deal. Good luck on the purchase! Sounds like a very reasonable price. ....

Anyone have some input on helping me decide between either the Kubota 3830 w/ 723 FEL or the 4630/ 5030 with FEL R4 etc. How much dif will I see for moving dirt, brush hog (6ft) box blading etc... It's a mere 3,000 even dif for the 4630 over the 3830. I drove both around the yard, but without being able to work with them both for a couple hours use on site I can't make up my mind. The $ is not too much of a deal, but they both seem very similar except for paper specs etc..Opinions ? Aloha, David. ....

Count on needing ballast weight on the rear for any real FEL work on these light tractors. The L5030 is not much heavier than the other models under it and to my surprise must have the ballast to avoid standing on its nose. Otherwise I am quite pleased with this tractor. I have the 832 loader. ....

Muletrain is right, they all seem pretty powerful for their weight. I filled the tires with water and it balances the loader well with dirt/gravel loads, however I have not filled it with broken-up concrete (a job we start next week.)

My guess is you will be happy any of these units if a '6 bush hog is all that is on your pto. I would suggest getting a unit that can handle the 832 FEL, an incredible loader for a compact tractor.

Good Luck. ....

KRAZFM, I too have a concrete job in my sumer plans. I have 15 hours on my 5030, and most has been spent in moving hay bales, 1500#. A local builder has dumped 15 loads of driveway and parking lot concrete for me to build up a broken creek bank. I figure this will be the real test for the 5030+832. The A/C cab will come in handy for Okla in Sept. mule ....

Hey guys. Lets please try to get back to my question about what tractor to choose. 3830 w 723 loader or either the 4630 or 5030 with 823 loader. How much diff in perf for main use of loader scooping both dumped dirt loades & scrapeing existing dirt of property (sandy loam). Also can you copmment of comparing the JD 4710 tracktor to these. I know yanmar etc, but how do they work VS: these Kubotas ? I need to choose by Tuesday afternoon ! Help. David. ....

Kawika007,
Don't be in a rush to buy until you have driven the models you have in mind. Otherwise, for a lot of dirt moving, brush-hogging and stump-grinding I would think the more horsepower the better. For lawnmowing, you might sell the big tractor and get a smaller one once the big jobs are done.

Kawika007, I am a new 5030 owner and in that these things I believe are true: 1. Heavy loader work and lawn cutting are for two different machines.
2. The 832 is a very good loader, but it needs rear weight.
3. Count on getting ballast!
4. Kubota = dependabilty, based on my experience with other equipment.
5. Good experienced dealership matters, a serious problem in central OK.
6.Don't expect a 3900# machine to move work like an 8000# tractor. My only disappointment in the 5030 was my unrealistic expectation.
7. Spend time trying them out before you commit to the payments.
Good day, sir.

I understand about the mowing vs: loader duties in tractors. I really just wanted to know about the diff between the kubota 3830 w 723 loader vs: the 4630 & 5030. I can't spend anymore than what the 5030 costs. I can get it in HST w 823 loader for 24,275. Yes I plan to use a finish mower later with it, but mostly moving dirt, box blade & auger work. I'm gpoing down to check out the JD 4710 today. Your thoughts ? Thanks, David. ....

Your comparison questions are beyond my experience. The price tag is good. For 5030 + 832 I paid (with cab) 30K and KRAZFM 26,100 (no cab).
Good luck,

Kawika,

I spent most of my time comparing the JD 4710 with the Kubota 5030 and found the Kubota was the hands-down winner. More HP, more weight, more practical features all for about the same price.

Again, I really suggest either the 4330, 4630 or 5030, all which use the 832 FEL. The 5030 will also give more gpm to the hydraulics.

To my knowlegde the 5030 is the most powerfull compact tractor on the market. What Muletrain and I are trying to tell you is that these tractors are getting very strong in horse power but tend to be light weight.

I asked the dealer if I could swing an eight foot mower with this tractor, he said yes regarding the hp's but warned the tractor might be driven by the mover when making turns on a steep hill. When you consider the tractor wieghs 3800#'s and the mower 1500#'s then you can see a potential problem when working on steep hills like we have in California.

Nothing I researched ultimately compared to the Kubota 5030. ....

Comparing the L5030 to the 4710 is an invalid comparison as the 5030 has an approximately 10% larger engine and about the same extra hp. The L4630 would be an accurate comparison. Both are very good tractors.

Actually the New Holland TC55A carries the championship belt as having the most ponies under the hood at 55 hp.

If you want to cut with an 8 ft. rotary cutter; you need to consider moving up to an ag tractor. That is way beyond what a CUT is designed for. ....

Kawaika,

Congratulations I don't think you will be dissapointed.

I have a Gannon box around that weight and am trying to upgrade to one that weighs at least 850#'s. My Gannon is good but not heavy enough to work through the hard clay soil in our area.

I am considering the Gearmoore box scraper, you may want to look at their website at www.gearmoore.com, they have box scrappers in all ranges and weights and are reasonably priced. ....

Chief,

I mentioned to the dealer that you brought up the TC55 was the hp leader in compacts. As the New Holland/Kubota dealer he said both the NH TC45 and TC55 are considered utility and not compact. He says Kubota, NH and JD all jump into higher hp's in the utility class.

It's probably just splitting hairs but he was the one that originally mentioned that the area rep claimed Kubota is still the leader in hp/compacts. He also mentioned that JD was going to be expanding their line in the 4000 series and may be moving ahead of Kubota.

When I was researching the difference between the JD 4710 vs. the Kubota 5030 it was because each was the most hp's in the compact class between the two brands. ....

I could be wrong but thought the New Holland TC series were considered compacts and the TN series considered utility.
The Kubota L series considered compact and the M series considered utility. ....

I am not an expert, but I took a look at the New Holland Website and they list three catagories for the Boomers, Sub Compact, Compact and Utility. Both the TC48 and TC55 are listed as Utility.

Kubota can be even more confusing, the M-series is listed as utility, but so is the L21, L35 and L48. It may just be a play on words but the dealer said these were contruction based units and considered utility. It seems a little confusing to me. ....
