Well, I finally am signing the papers in the morning.
And just wanted to ask to see if anyone had a comment on if I am getting a fair or even good deal.

So here goes.

4610 4x4 with Power Reverser
460 loader with a 6 foot heavy Duty Frontier Box
Total Package: $22,000.00

I live in Dallas Texas if it means anything....

Oh, and by the way they put on a $200.00 "Origination" fee. I think this is a BS attempt to just add on a charge.
I think in Texas the "paperwork" fee can not exceed $50.00, but I will have to find out asap, it just kinda pisses me off......

Thanks guys.....

Len

Sounds like a good deal to me, Len. I paid $23,300 for a 4610 MFWD with ehydro and FEL.

Thanks Billy.

Well I ended up getting pissed off at the sales man and went down the street.
They had a 4710 with a hydro and since I wanted a tractor right then, I just did it.
I think I even did a little better, go figure...
I paid 23,600 for it with a medium box but got ag tires on it...

I hope this helps someone else....

Good luck guys... I am sure I will keep on looking here to the guys with the experience..

PS: And if anyone in near Dallas and wants to shoot come on out to my range.. www.tdsa.net
It will be the one with the big green machine on it..

A power reverser shift on the column that you can flip to change directions "with out using the clutch"
I talked to the Deere Guy and he said "not to use the clutch" AT ALL to power reverse. It was like using the clutch for "no reason"
It feels odd but that is what he said...
Hope that helps...

Congrats Len, You'll love the hydro, I know I do. I had a 4600 with collar shift before the 4610, it was a nice change for me. Sounds like you came out smelling like a rose on your deal.

By the way, on that other thread (metal shavings) I haven't heard of any problems with the 4510 thru 4710 tractors. Hopefully there won't be.

Gee, I really appreciate the words.
It was more than I had planned to spend but I guess I now have the biggest "compact tractor" deere in the 4xxx serious, so I won't always wonder if I should have got the one bigger...

The only thing my uncle "older guy" did not like was those darn "hydros" because of what might happen when it breaks..
But I couldn't find any trouble with them on here, so I just did it.

Thanks again,

Now I just need a post hole digger to use in black dirt. After that up price I just could not go the 650.00 price on the dealers... But I will one somewhere..

Len,

If you don't mind, which dealer hacked you off and where did you end up buying? I, too, live in the Dallas area and am looking for a good JD dealer.

Froggie,

The salesman that I could not stand anymore was at the Ennis Dealership. I talked to the owner just to let him know. He sounded nice but I did tell him that I was not going to buy from him due to it.

I went to AgPower in Terrell.
I bought a 4710 with ehydro. I freaking love it..
I need to call them back and say thank you very much for talking me into the ehydro.. I hope it holds up cause if it does I will never regret buying that Deere... It might have sounded a little over priced in the beginning but when you factor alot of other stuff in it is almost the same..
We will see with the service in a couple of years... But I am VERY happy.....

Come on out and drive it if you want to...

Len,

Know what you mean about the Terrell dealership (it's one of five in N. TX owned by same people). I visit there a lot to ask questions and get literature. Will probably end up buying there.

The dealership in Ennis is part of the Cleburne JD family. Never felt very welcome when I would go in there.

Thanks,

Froggy

Let me add one more thing also.
I accidently called the McKinney store and originally cut my deal with them. But they could not get my tractor ready for 5 days. So they called the Terrell Store and let them sell me the tractor.
So at one time I had two salesmen on the phone and cell phone trying to get me a tractor within 48 hours. They wanted to make it up to me for the treatment I got in Ennis. And they did...

I can't speak for anyone else but I am so happy I can't describe it. They even talked me into a ehydro and I am so happy they did I need to take him to lunch..

I hope they treat you the same as they treated me..
Tell Tom in Terrell I said hello...
He asked me not to tell anyone what I paid so go easy just in case he really was giving me a killer deal.. After all I do have to get mine serviced there.... :)

good Luck..
