I was just wondering if anybody has bought a 2520 JD yet? I have been looking at them on the JD site and I have been wanting to upgrade to a slightly larger tractor. I have a 2210 at the moment. Please let me know how you like it and any pros and cons about it would be helpful. Thanks, Dallas...

My dealer here in CT has three of them. Looked pretty nice, although I could nit-pick about a few things. Price is pretty competitive too.

I am interested in what "things" you would nit-pick. I haven't yet seen mine. I hope I made the right decision. ....

I wouldn't worry about it. A machine hasn't been made that couldn't be nit-picked. ....

Things I would nit-pick about? How about the small gas cap? You will have to use a funnel and because of that, stand on the operators platform to fill it. How about the 200CX loader? It seems chinsey that the biggest tractor in the small frame line-up uses the same loader on the 2305. The gauge panel also seems blah, although there is an idiot light to let you know it is in 4WD. I'm not sure I like the hood which looks like it is a combo of composite plastic and metal fabs. Other than that, it sounds great, has plenty of power, has two separate hydraulic pumps for PS and SCV circuits, and comes with large tires.
Let us know what you think!

Mine was delivered today. This may be smaller than some of you are used to. But, it is much larger than I have any experience with. So, with less than an hour on the clock, I am still getting familiar with it.
I am concerned with potential power on my hills. When driving up hill to the pole barn, it just would not go in high range with the loader and rear blade on and ballast in the tires. It had no other load, all lifted. In high, as the incline increased, it slowed and the foot pedal became harder to push and seemed to vibrate and not go any more. So, I quickly stopped, shift to low range and it goes up fine. I don't know if this is normal or not.
The operator manual nor the DVD shows anything regarding what to expect from the HST under varying conditions. Anyone know of a thread to that kind of information?
I am impressed with the i-Match simplicity. So far, it looks promising, but more seat time will tell.

Generally the only thing high range is used for is driving on level roads. Not much work requires higher speeds. What you're experiencing is normal. ....

Mike, just curioius if the pedal you're referring to is the Hydro pedal? If so, remember it doesn't behave like a throttle. Speeding up the Hydro-pedal (this is its transmission) is like shifting into a higher gear on a gear model. For example, if going uphill with a gear model, it would be harder to maintain as much power if shifting from 2nd gear to 4th gear. ....

I've looked at the 2520 but the hoses going to the front axle had a loop coming down and it looks like a potential problem. I'm still shopping and have yet to decide on a specific brand or model but I'm leaning towards Deere & Kubota due to the dealerships around here.
Good luck!
