Book wise says about five! for allowance on high which it doesn't have high hours so it should be worth from there up depending on the purchaser. They were not a good tractor for a loader as they didn't offer power steering. ....

The unfortunate thing in this country is that the book prices will be much lower then what the tractor is really worth...mainly because the Tractor is Japanese and is not given the same respect as an American Tractor(even though the quality is very different between the two,Japanese tractor is at the top of the list just fyi) So when Art White, says 5! when he looks at the book price, it could really be worth more around 10 or 11 thousand. When people look at the tractor they will think it would be worth more around 11 thousand anyways in price because of the size and condition and quality it has:)
I have the exact same tractor as you do:) and i bought mine for 22 thousand!( in 2000 and new ) and is extremely durable. I have gone over 4 ft high and 5 foot diameter dirt mounds and piles of medium sized rocks (at the top of a small dirt ledge so add 2 feet to the height at the other side of the mounds) all of this slowly and never flipped once and through at least 10 inches of mud at full speed and it never slowed down.)it has also never sustained any damage in any of these encounters either(going through the long mud strip was by accident just fyi). It only has 561 hours on it and is in great condition and runs beautifully and will run for thousands of more hours and many more years:) Look at my profile to see what mine is carrying:) ....

The big problem IMHO is nothing to do with 'opinions' but rather the blind faith some out of touch 'expert' who wrote the book.

Case in point, I have a good friend who listened to his bean-counter and leased, rather than bought his new car 3.5 years ago. MSRP was a titch over $100k for the car, the lease at 0.9% interest offset the cost of the fact there wasn't really anyway to 'dicker' on the price, but it all came out in the wash.

3 years down the road (last fall), the lease is up and the buyout of $62k doesn't look very attractive compared to what the same car is selling for at the time. On the advise of a car dealer friend he hands the car back to the leasing company (a division of the manufacturer) and says thanks, but no thanks.

A few weeks later he accompanied said dealer friend to the auction where he buys his old car back from the leasing company for $32k.

So who was out to lunch, the free market economy, or the guy that said the car would be worth $62k in 3 years?

This is pretty common, more so than you think.

Best of luck.

....
