I have located a Shibaura SD 1850 4x4 with only 5 operational hours for sale. I have looked on the internet and have found no information pertaining to model SD 1850. The owner bought with other merchandise and doesn't know the tractor. He thinks it is a two cylinder, 18 hp tractor. Since I can't find any information on it, I am hesitate to purchase it. I could get this tractor for around $2,500. Any comments? Can a loader be added to this model? Are Shibauras reliable tractors and are parts available?

Jim,it is most likely a SD1840.If its in good condition,$2500 is a good price.I would be very skeptical of the 5 hrs though,as these tractors are probably at least 20 yrs old or more.Normal maintainence items like filters,hoses,belts can be found locally,but major repair parts can be hard to find and may have to come from Japan. ....
