hello
I just bought a mt372d and have a few questions
1 how long do you have to hold the key for the glow plug?
2 what is the "button" on the dash with holes in it, below it says "heat"?
3How much weight would you recommend for a counter weight on the rear?(it has a loader bucket on front

You hold the key till the it glows in the button hole. With fwd you may not need a counter weight. ....

is there a relay or safety thing so as not to burn out the glow plugs?
glow plugs I am positive their working cause the tractor starts easier especially in this frigid temperature we are having

It probably takes more than 10 seconds for the resistor to glow. When it is glowing the glow plugs should be hot enough. ....

Just put your palm over the "button" as you call it with the holes in it and you can feel it heat up. My experience thus far is that in the summer you need 0 to 10 seconds. By this I mean that somestimes I have rolled it out and hit the starter and it fired off with no preheat of the glo plugs. In the winter, on the other hand, 30 seconds at least and sometimes several attempts. The 372 is a cold natured beastie, at least the one I have is. Good hot battery helps. I keep a Battery Tender on mine. Sometimes a forced air shop heater blasting on the engine for a half hour gets it going. But this this only necessary when you are up to your ;) in snow outside. ....
