Well, after taking the tractor to a mechanic and pulling of the wheel he noticed that a round metal seal was missing and that's where all the oil was leaking from. the oil reservoir was also over a gallon more that should have been in it.

Next question. the arms of the three point are connected on the side of the shreader frame. is this proper or should they be connected to the outside of the frame?

Mike not sure on your question. The "shreader frame" is this on the tractor or an implement?

I think you are asking on an implement and if understand correctly they have pins turned out and in and then the other set up where there are two arms and the lift arms fit between and pins pushed in. No one is right and others wrong, depends on the implement and the tractor. ....
