Anyone had any trouble with any Long tractor rear wheel falling off center plate well I did (this was on a new long tractor with less than 25 hours) and I was bush hogging at the time.It seems at the factory someone forgot to check (QUALITY CONTROL) to make sure the center plate was welded and not just tack welded. It bent the rear fender really bad. Well I was promised a new fender and rear wheel, and the Company in North Carolina said they would paint the whole tractor cause they would not be able to match the paint_________ Well after 3 MONTH I finally had to call the long dealer that had my tractor and tell them I NEEDED MY TRACTOR Guess what no new FENDER and the new paint job (HA HA ) it looked like it was done by a 6 year old with spray cans IS THIS HOW A REPUTABLE COMPANY DOES THERE CUSTOMERS???????????????

I think I would be approach this issue from the point of view that I want a new tractor. How far have you taken this issue up with the dealer? Something is not adding up, what would take 3 months to repair? Why would you accept the tractor back if it was not properly or completeley repaired. I would suggest you speak with the owner and then Long factory rep. expressing you position and what you want and hopfully they will be reasonable and work this out with you. Otherwise I would stop payments on the tractor and be speaking with an attorney. Best to work something out with them that is agreeable to both of you. When attorneys are involved the one who wins then is the attorney. I would like to see more info. on this, something just does not seem right. ....

Chief:
I was told it was taking a long time to get the new fender because it had to come from overseas. So when I called them (tractor repair place) and told them I NEEDED My tractor NOW they just beat out my old fender and lets some half A__ painter (useing a spray can it looks like)try to paint the whole tractor ---- orange peel and paint runs all over the body------ I can't stop payment because I paid cash And the tractor was delivered when I was at work now I know why. I have been stewing over this situation for about 4/5 months now trying to calm down and do the right thing.
By the way I'm from middle Tennessee also White Bluff ....

At this point in the game you options are kinda limited. Best course of action I would think is to try to work something out with the dealer. I take it you have already tried this to no avail. Have you written to or contacted Long directly and addressed the issue at that level? If you have done that as well; I don't see much else except for maybe mediation through the Better Business Bureau if the dealer is a member and agrees to do so. You already know about the lawyer thing. Maybe you can get the dealer to repaint the tractor better and install the fender when it comes in. At some point you just have to cut your losses. Does not sound like the dealer is highly motivated, have you tried any of the above ideas and what was the result? ....
