Have 272 hrs on tractor. When using a brush hog I pushed in the clutch to stop and tractor kept going. I popped it out of gear. No burning clutch smell, no other problems till now. Now the only way the tractor will move is to put it in gear and push "down" on the clutch pedal. But the tractor barly moves like this. Can a clutch go all of a sudden? How much do you think the repair bill will be if I have it repaired, assuming it is the clutch.

I wonder if you've used the mower before and this is a brand new problem. The first part sounds like what happens on old tractors before live pto and before built in over-running PTO clutches. That doesn't really sound like the problem though although you might say if the tractor has live pto or an over-running clutch.
When the PTO is disengaged, I also wonder if the clutch pedal operation feels normal, if the pedal returns to the top of its travel and if it has some free play at the top? Is there any feeling that it is engaging and do the gears shift easily. Is the PTO still powered? If there is an access plate that can be removed so the clutch can be inspected, I'd do that.
Plenty of questions, but more info would be good.

I had the same problem with my 280 last year. Check under the tractor and you will find a rubber plug on the bottom of the case. pull it out and throught it as far as you can. These tractor were made to be driven in rice patties so the clutch case is sealed and will condisate over time if not drained. Mine ended up with a frozen throught out bearing which took out the clutch plate and pressure plate fingers.
Good luck! Cost me $500 to fix ....
