Just bought a Long 610 with loader at a estate sale. It would not run for more then two min then shutdown! bought new fuel pump and new fuel filters. installed them today after bleding filters and injectors she fired up and ran great! I never had a diesel tractor before and was happy that it ran so good. drove it around for ten min and it started to rain so i went back to the barn but I could not get it to stop running? with the key out I had to put the tractor I 1st gear and hold the breaks to stall the tractor! Any help?

As you found out, diesels don't need an ignition curcuit except for start-cranking. I've never seen a Long, but in general:

Throttle systems are complex because of the hand and foot operation, and sometimes the linkages stick, so oil them all. Try pulling up the foot one with your toe. If there's a decompression control that will stop it but it's not good for the engine, just as stalling isn't good for the clutch. You should be able to stop the fuel flow, or look for a shut-off adjustment.

It's obviously not been maintained, and you're not experienced, so I hope you can find a manual. ....

Wouldn't be a choke. Maybe for a glow plug or deompression. ....

That would be the shut off lever that all most all older diesels have. ....

You 100% correct! Pull the RED knob cuts the fuel. Push the RED knob heats up the glow plug!

Thanks for all your help! ....
