I recently bought a Ford 1500 4wd with the loader and am very happy with it. What kind of work are you doing with it? I can tell you that I work mine in a hilly woodlot with unimproved roads and have only had it out of 4wd maybe twice.Whenever I start to think that maybe 2wd might work in a particular situation I am almost always wrong. Unimproved, loose gravel roads, going uphill even without a load have all required 4wd. I have done quite a bit of work with this tractor including cutting a road across a slope, I know I would not have been able to do it with the 2wd version. If you are mowing or using the tractor mostly on fairly level terrain the 2wd should work. One thing, the PTO is dependent and clutches with the transmission, this will affect how you work with your impliments, if you are going to mow you will need an overriding PTO adapter to allow the blade to freewheel past stopped or idling PTO shaft.Oaktree has a picture of my tractor posted at his site:http://www.springfieldbiz.com/oaktree/fordtractor.htmGood LuckKim ....
