What is the relationship of the Breakout Force at the pivot pins of 3,863 lb/ft for the 460 loader mean? The Breakout Force at the bucket cutting edge would be of more value. I assume it is less. How can this value be calculated based on the published data?The lift capacity is specified as 2,325 lbs at the pivot pin. Does this value include the weight of a standard bucket?Inquiring minds would like to know.Tony

Tony, this was a new gimmick in advertising to one-up the rest of the guys. By doing it at the pivot pins the bucket weight is not included which will drop the load rating by an additional 200lbs right off the bat. ....

I noticed this measurement in a brochure the other day. I believe they are trying to show a torque in lb-ft so that it is independent of the bucket.
There is a SAE spec that standardizes the test method for determining the breakout number. As I recall, it is with the bucket on the ground, and blocks
under the pivot pins so that the tires don't deflect and the tractor doesn't lift the rear end off the ground. the vertical force measured 4 inches back from the leading edge of the cutting edge is the breakout force.
If you divide Deeres number by the distance from the bucket pin to 4" back from the cutting edge, you should have the spec number.
By the way, this is just a comparison number. In the real digging world there
are other loads such as tractor forward drawbar and any fulcrum points under the
bucket that change its effect.

Isn't the actual (real world) lift capacity of the 460 loader around 1700 lbs? David ....
