Need some advice on pro's/con's of putting teeth onto a loader bucket...will be using a Kubota B2710. Not even sure what is available. I envision using the teeth to help "grab" brush and to remove top soil...but haven't tried it yet.

ggman, I second Bird on this one. I bought a removable toothbar with my loader last year and it is great for groundbreaking, tickling up rocks and small stumps, and digging into hardened piles of fill. However, it is limited in what it can do with brush and small trees. Basically you have to be able to get under the roots to be effective with the toothbar. I bought a Brush-Brute this spring to effectively tackle brush and small trees, but haven't gotten to use it yet. There are posts both here that describe the Brush-Brute and testimonials to what it can do. It isn't cheap, but it can save a lot of time and do a nice job if you have a lot of this type of work. ....

Ggman, you asked about pros and cons of the toothbar. The pros Bird and I mentioned above. The toothbar is great for removing topsoil or any digging effort. One downside is that I remove my toothbar before loading light materials where I want to be able to clean up nicely - like snow or mulch or sawdust. You also want to remove the toothbar if you are going to do a lot of backsmoothing and finish grading; with the teeth on you scarify rather than smooth. What's nice is that the toothbar is easy to remove (two bolts). The other con is that a 60" removable toothbar with replaceable teeth cost me about $400 as I remember. ....

Yeah, thanks for reminding me, Leonard! :>) Seriously, I've referred several people to you in the past year who were interested in removable toothbars. I hope some of these turned into sales for you. ....

Art, I agree that a grapple is the best for moving brush that is already out of the ground. But I think that the Brush-Brute is the best for removing small trees and brush, roots and all, from the ground. The nicest loader-mounted grapple I've seen is the Faver grapple rake (see link below). Which grapple are you referring to? And can it go on any other than a Kubota bucket? ....
