Hey ya-all, my father-in-law is looking for a re-placement o-ring for his pitless adapter. All he has is numbers off the inside of the well cap (I know I know!)
He say's the well guy around him told him he will need a new adapter if they can't find it right away when they pull the steel pipe.
So, anyone know of a site to find old style pitless parts? He say's the o-ring was around 1/2 dia!!! and
4 5/8 ID. I searched for a half hour and gave up. Anyone be able to give me a lead? Thank ya-all!

Maybe this will help. Go to this link, search on O-rings. There's a link on the page that says "Don't see the O-ring you need? Just tell us what you're looking for and we'll get it for you". Click on that link and send 'em an email. ....

I think you will find it is 4.5" not 4 5/8" that's not a standard size.
For anything to do with pitless adapters go straight to the source, Merrill Manufacturing.
Best of luck. ....

Thanks, all I got from the company's tech folk was a standard response, "If you cant find it here, ask a profesional. LOL. The profesionals just want to dig it up and put in a "new style" pitless adapter at the tune of 1K instead of the price of an O-ring. If it were mine, Id take her out and machine it to a dimension that I had an o-ring for!. (Me thinks I will pass that on to my father-in-law. ....

I would think you can get the ring some place unless they made their own mold. They claim the one for the new one is a standard O'ring.
The other option wound be to machine the O'ring. Got any dry ice? ....

My husband had the same problem, ours is the old style, I went to a plumbing supply and they did not have the correct 0 ring either. He went to NAPA (auto parts) and bought an 0 ring that was ID was just a little smaller than the old o ring and it is working perfectly. If he wants he can call my hubby at (937) 760-1221. He is smiling because he said it paid .85 cents for it so he bought 2. ....
