Recently the tractor keeps over heating and loosing cooling water. Initial inspection reveals that there is water leaking out of the weep hole on the water pump housing indicating that the seal has gone West. So I was disappointed to check my trusty spares manual and find out that the water pump is only provided as an assembly and no mention of a replacement seal.
Does anybody know or have experience if a replacement seal can be fitted or am I stuck with buying a replacement assembly? I've seen a few water pump seals advertised for Hinomoto's but they don't specify which model they replace.
Is this water pump assembly more complex than a Rolex watch and beyond the endeavours of a competent home mechanic, due to special tools and lack of available spares or can it be tackled? I'd rather spend time and $8.75 than $155.00 for a replacement assembly.
Thanks in advance for any feedback or experiences.

Never heard of a DIY rebuildable water pump, but I guess stranger things have happened. If in fact what you saw advertised was such a DIY item, I think you should go straight to the seller(s) and ask THEM if they've got one to fit your model.
