Hi folks,

I have a Hinomoto N189D 4X4 tractor. It's a grey market unit and was built around 1977. It's been a great little tractor until now. The 3 point hitch has quit working. The hydraulic pump located under the seat, seems to be the problem. The front end loader works great and there is plenty of fluid. Does it sound like it's the unit under the seat and do you have any suggestions on possible solutions? Thanks for your time and help.

Don't know that brand but the hitch and the loader each has its own pump? In what way does it no longer work? Meanwhile, two general possibilities:

Look for a hitch control, usually a knob or two in the seat area, that you turn to control the lowering speed or to keep it full up. Sometimes they go out of adjustment.

See if the up/down control is disconnected.

Yes, you are on the right track. When I was grading the road, I stopped to adjust the hitch controll knob under the seat. When I did, the drag box/3 point Dropped to the ground. I had to disconnect the box to move the tractor. The controll knob does nothing but turn in and out. The up/down control is connected. What does it take to re-adjust the hitch control or what might I need to do to troubleshoot/fix it?

Thanks for your time ....
