I recently purchased a Hinomoto E2302 2-wd Tractor with 400 hours. I know it is a 26 hp tractor but that is about all. If anyone knows what the American equivalent is, year range or any information I would appreciate it.

Eric, I own a Hino E2304, the 4wd version of your tractor. The tractor is an equal to a MF 1030. Horsepower is actually 27 according to Massey....don't have my shop manual with me now or would be glad to help you out with more info. Be aware that just because it crosses to the Massey doesn't make parts cheaper. Example, I had to purchase a pto countershaft, Massey price $1000+, direct from Japan with shipping $50...go figure. Jerri ....

I have the MF shop manual for 10 series tractors which does cover the E2304. As to things to check before going into the tractor. 1) when you raise the front axle and turn one tire does the other turn in to opposite direction? 2) When you pull the 4wd lever it is pulling up another lever attached to the tranny? Let me know about this, and maybe I can help some more.

Also, if you don't mind my asking, how long have you had your tractor? Where are you located?

Take care,

Jerri ....

Leonard, I really appreciate the way you pitch in there to help all of us grey market folks. I thought you were primarily a Yanmar dealer, do you do much with the Hinomotos? BTW, what would a parts book for this tractor go for?

Thanks,

Jerri ....

I am sure you saw the posts from Leonard Sheafer. He is located up in Illinois and maybe a source for parts should you need them. I will say that he sure seems willing to help and that is very benefical. Let me know how things turn out.
