I keep getting large quantities of diesel in crankcase on my compact 255 diesel. I have had head rebuilt, injectors rebuilt, diesel pump rebuilt, and have reset valves to proper gauge.
When I drain the crankcase and replace with new oil the tractor runs great for a about 30 to 60 minutes.
After that the crankcase is overfull with oil and diesel and starts throwing it out stack so I shut it off and remove dip stick and it pours out in steady stream.
There is no fuel lift pump as injector pump is gravity fed.
The injector pump is a camshaft-less PFR type Nippon Denso. The motor is a Mitsubishi.I would appreciate any serious help to solve this problem.

It is now April 15 and I have now found that it is NOT diesel but hydro fluid leaking into crankcase.
Now I cannot find a new seal for my hydro pump.

Not meaning to second-guess you, but is the coolant level staying full? ....

Coolant staying full, had radiator cleaned and checked.
Has new head gasket and no signs of heating up or leakage of coolant. Thanks for the info however. ....

This tractor is driving me bonkers, have pumped almost $2000.into repairs and still same problem.
Today I ordered the type of compression gauge that you hold into the injector hole in head and check compression just in case rings are letting fuel go into crankcase.
I am at my wits end trying to solve this problem that seems should be obvious with the amount of diesel getting into crankcase. I even took the injector pump out and turned on fuel flow to it to see if fuel was leaking through bottom of injector pump. No leak there. I even took injectors out and hooked them up pointing out of engine and cranked over. They are working well spraying a mist as they should. They are not sticking open and letting fuel leak into cylinders. ....

I meant to also say there is no chance that the injector pump timing is off because it is controlled by a separate cam in engine the injector pump just rides on the cam.
No one has changed the timing if this cam and it is controlled by gears that stay in line. ....

I'm unsure of the exact design of the pump but in the past the problem has been the injector pump seal on the driveshaft. ....

The injector pump is driven by riding on a cam there is no shaft seal to leak on this type of pump.It just sits there and the cam pushes up the rollers under the pump. Also I just had ip rebuilt. Thank you for your response however, hopefully I can find the answer soon. have to bush hog real soon. ....

I'm with Art, there's really only one place a fairy normal running tractor can get that much diesel into the crankcase, the injection pump.

If an engine that small was pouring it through the cylinders it would be painfully obvious, and you wouldn't be able to see the tractor for the cloud of smoke it was putting out.

I wouldn't hold the fact the pump was just rebuilt out as much of a reason to rule it out as the culprit, errors do happen and I've seen more than a few freshly rebuilt 'anythings' that were still the problem.

Best of luck. ....
