Though I have solved the problem with my CASE DZ25E that would stall when shifted into gear, I would like to share the cause and solution with the readers here. After starting the tractor, it would stall a few seconds after shifting it into gear. The problem was with the safety switch under the seat. It appears that one of the seat pan spring supports vibrated loose and extended the height of the seat enough to cause the switch to not make contact and thus stall the engine. Thankfully, a very easy fix by tightening the spring support bolt down, but it wasn't obvious at first. Hope this helps other owners encountering the same problem. Happy Holidays!

Just wondering, did it take long to find this? It would seem either a quick find or a long slow find. ....

To me it only made sense that if the engine was running fine, but as soon as I shifted it into gear and it stopped within 3 seconds that something was cutting out the engine. Knowing that there are 3 interlocks: seat switch, gear shift switch and PTO switch, I started with the most accessable one, the seat switch. I see another post, where someone is jumping an interlock switch, but I wonder if the circuit is normaly open or normaly closed? He may be jumping it but not defeating it correctly. I bet a shot of lock de-icer on these switches would help too. ....
